The Vice Chancellor added that the university vision is equally aimed to be renowned for intellectual freedom, ethical standards, research, community service and outstanding training of a new generation of leaders,

Penpushing reports that she stated that the mission of the university is to create a learning environment that nurtures a sound moral and intellectual culture that attracts an excellent blend of faculty from across the world, and deploys resources to educate the total person.

The Vice Chancellor encouraged the graduates to be bold in pursuing their aspirations, declaring that the world is for the bold. Pointing out that obtaining a higher degree should not be regarded as the ultimate destination.

Penpushing further reports that Arulogun advised the graduates to look beyond academic advancement and focus on making meaningful contributions to society.

The Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako, who was the guest lecturer urged the graduates to look beyond academic qualifications and embrace innovation, leadership and problem-solving to succeed in a rapidly changing world.

Penpushing also reports that Salako who spoke on the topic “Beyond the Degree: Next Generation Leadership, Innovation and Impact in a Changing World,” emphasised the need for graduates to develop practical skills, remain committed to learning and create meaningful impact in society.

The Minister pointed out that success goes beyond obtaining a degree, noting that academic certificates alone do not determine an individual’s future achievements, explaining that success in the contemporary world depends on what individuals can do, the people they can lead, the problems they can solve and the positive difference they make in the lives of others.

Penpushing reports that Salako urged the graduates to embrace lifelong learning, solve problems people are willing to pay to have addressed, and seek ownership opportunities rather than depend solely on salaried employment.

The guest speaker advised them to build their careers on integrity, develop a global outlook regardless of their location, and serve as bridges of opportunity whenever they move to new environments.

Penpushing further reports that he encouraged the graduates to lift others as they progress in life and prioritise their health, stressing the importance of balancing professional achievements with personal well-being, and described Nigeria as a land of opportunities for those who are adequately prepared to recognise and utilise them.
