Chambers of commerce tasks government on women inclusion in capacity building

The Chambers of Commerce Mines and Agriculture has charged government on inclusion of women in public procurement to enhance capability building, and gender equality in economic development of the state.

Penpushing reports that, the immediate past President of National Association of Chambers of Commerce Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Iyalode Alaba Lawson made the call at  the training session on women for public procurement programme held at Covenant University, Ota, Ogun state.

The training was organized by the Ota chapter of the chambers in conjunction with the Regional Center for Expertise Ogun state  chapter, and Covenant University, and has the theme, “Women Inclusion in Public procurement for Social and Economic progress in Ogun”.

Penpushing further reports that, Lawson, who delivered a keynote speech and represented by Mrs.Adetutu Omisore stressed that, women inclusion in public procurement will aid developments in Ogun state, and enhance capability building in the state.

The  President of the chapter Dr. Kayode Bowale, in his speech urged participants to take the training very serious,  adding that,  they should not let their gender to be  a barrier in entrepreneurship, adding that, they should always get in touch with Regional Center For Expertise, (RCE) for mentoring.

“Women generally are very important in any society,  undoubtedly, women  are  very key to sustainable development, the barriers facing women in entrepreneur is what the program tends to solve , that is why this program was designed for women, to fix all the challenges towards the empowerment”, he added.

Penpushing  reports that,  the Ogun State Coordinator of  NACCIMA Business Women Group (NaWORG) Mrs.Cyntia Saka  in her remarks noted that,  the program will serve as the information center for women who are not present for the training, and it will also assist to grow women in the area positively and community at large.

The coordinator while further speaking, in the same vein, charged  all women to be strong, and more focus in their endeavour, expressing confidence and optimism that women can make it as well.
