Canada based philanthropist donates boreholes to Gbagura communities

A  Canada based Nigerian philanthropist, Adeshina Keshinro has brought respite to two communities (Oke-Ido and Iwo) in Abeokuta North Local Government area of Ogun State with the provision of boreholes.

Penpushing reports that, the communities and residents have many years suffering of potable water, an ugly development which has been a source of worry for thousands residents of the communities.

The donor in his speech explained that he embarked on the project in order to give back to his people as well as the communities where he grew up, disclosing that the project gulped over N2million.

Penpushing further reports that, Keshinro pointed out that water supply is very essential hence the need to donate it to them, adding that the traditional ruler of Agura had also encouraged him to contribute to the construction of medical centre, and gave assurance of that he would see to the success of the project.

The Chairman of Community Development Association (CDA) , Ido Ifesoka, Mrs Monsurat Aminu  in her remarks appreciated the donor for the kind gestures, adding that the boreholes have solved the problems of water supply they have been facing.

“I am really happy with the projects. Water supply is out major problem and I am happy that our problem is gone now with this (boreholes). We are going to use it well for our advantage and we are support with committee to maintain the boreholes”.

Penpushing reports that, a chieftain of All Progress Congress(APC),Prince Gboyega Isiaka in his goodwill message, commended the donor, pointing out that, the fact remains  that government cannot do it alone hence well meaning Nigerians must continue to support the government in the area of provision of social amenities for the people.

The former Governorship candidate of African Democratic Congress stated that it was now left for the residents to maintain the project, in encouraging the donor to do more as well as other intending donors to emulate.

Penpushing further reports that, Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo represented by Barrister Oduntan, in his remarks said the project would go a long way in moving the communities forward.

The boreholes were commissioned by the Agura of Gbagura,  Oba Sabur Babajide Bakre while  dignitaries at the ceremony, included, Chairman Ogun Free Trade Zone (OGUN GUNADONG), representative of Alake of Egbaland, Barrister Sunday Oduntan, Chief Niyi Adegbenro, Alhaji Adio Bayewunmi, Hon. Chief Yusuf Eweje and Mr. Toheeb Adeniran.

Penpushing also reports that, the monarch in his speech said he was elated by the water projects, stressing that the boreholes would go a long way in relieving the people of the areas of hardship faced due to lack of adequate water supply.

The royal father pointed out that one of the things that made him happy was the location of one of the boreholes, which he said was at the main road, calling other sons and daughters of Gbagura to emulate the kind gesture of Keshinro.

Penpushing reports that, Bakre who also inaugurated committee to maintain the boreholes urged the residents on need, to ensure they maintain the facility properly for the benefit of generation coming after them.
