A reputable banker Otunba Jimi Lawal has joined the list of aspirants showing interest to participate in the Ogun State Governorship race under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Penpushing reports that, Lawal made the declaration at the Alake palace in Abeokuta, having in attendance thousands of his supporters, with many of them, members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The aspirant who is also former special adviser to the Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai recently dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Penpushing further reports that, Lawal, a lawyer while speaking at the declaration explained that he joined the Governorship race to bring his vast experience in both private and public service into governance in the state.

The aspirant who in 2019 contested for the same position, and came second in the primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC), boasted that if elected he would transform the state to greater height, adding that he had all it takes to improve living standard of the people

Penpushing also reports that, Lawal expressed displeasure over the recent incessant cult clashes in the state, stressing that, he would ensure adequate security as the Governor of the state if elected

The Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Dr Sikirulahi Ogundele, in his remarks assured that the party would provide a level playing ground for every contestants at the primaries.

Penpushing reports that, Ogundele accused the ruling All Progressives(APC) of maladministration, and called on voters and residents to kick out the party with their votes in the forthcoming poll

The Chairman of  Oyo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party( PDP), Dayo Ogungbenro who was also in attendance  declared that , Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) remains the choice party to salvage the country from the present plights under the administration of All Progressives Congress(APC).

“For instance everyone in Oyo State has already agreed that Engr. Seyi Makinde deserves another term because as a Governor elected on the platform of PDP he has continued working for the good of the people, he prioritizes the welfare of the people unlike APC that is making life difficult for Nigerians’, he emphasised.

Penpushing reports that, Ogungbenro, called on voters in Ogun State to maximize the opportunity in 2023 to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), to end the plights they are subjected to by the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC)
