The All Progressives Congress (APC) has uncovered fake list of candidates said to have emerged at its recently concluded primaries across the country, and subsequently distanced itself from the purported list circulating online.
Penpushing reports that the circulated list contained the names of successful candidates from its recently concluded primary elections, and in swift response the party in a public notice issued on Sunday, declared that it had not released any official list of winners from the primaries.
The ruling party in the disclaimer signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, shared on the party’s official X account cautioned members and the general public against relying on unauthorised publications.
The disclaimer, emphasized that the All Progressives Congress (APC), reports announcing the outcome of the primaries are false and should be disregarded, explaining that successful aspirants would be officially informed through the party’s recognised communication channels before being issued Certificates of Return.
“The public is therefore advised to disregard any publication or report purporting to announce the outcome of the primaries, as such information is false and unauthorised,” the statement read.
“Successful candidates would be formally notified through the party’s official channels, after which Certificates of Return would be issued in line with established procedures,” the notice stated.
Penpushing further reports that the party urged its members, stakeholders and the general public to rely solely on official All Progressives Congress (APC) communications for updates regarding the outcome of its primary elections.
