African children voices set to mark 25 years of establishment

African Children Voices, a non-governmental organization based in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria will be marking twenty-five of its establishment aimed to concise with the World Children’s Day.

Penpushing reports that the organization popularly known as ACV was founded by Mr. Kola Obadimu Jnr, on November 19, 2000, and has produced number of responsible children now doing well in their various field of professions.

The founder explained that the organization which main focus was to educate the world on the rights of the child was fully supported by UNICEF, with over 4000 children passed through the tutelage of African Children Voices

‘African Children Voices clocks 25 years as the world children’s day is being celebrated. Over 4000 children passed through the tutelage of African Children Voices. They were taught how to defend their rights and speak for the rights of other children’, Obadimu stated.

‘The organization was supported by Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs, Ogun State Ministry of Justice, Federation of Women Lawyers, Penpushing Media, Nigerian Union of Journalists, many individuals and other relevant agencies. African Children Voices was instrumental to the passing of the child’s right bill by the Ogun State House of Assembly.’, he wrote

Penpushing further reports that he explained that African Children Voices (ACV) members regularly visit orphanages to show love and support to the under privileged children, recalling that the child’s-based organization participated in the 3rd Lagos Book and Art Festival, held at National Museum Lagos in September, 2003

‘The child’s-based organization participated in the 3rd Lagos Book and Art Festival, held at National Museum Lagos in September, 2003 where “THE STORY OF A NATION” a playlet written by Kola Obadimu Jnr, was performed and subsequently adapted for television by NTA Abeokuta with the support of UNICEF B-Field Office, Lagos’.

‘Children’s court a television series was produced and broadcast on AIT, AFRICA MAGIC, GALAXYTV, NTA to mention but a few. Many members of ACV attended several seminars and workshops on child development both within and outside Nigeria, including the Children’s Summit organized by UNICEF in Abuja, Nigeria in 2002, say yes to children at Ibadan, Oyo State Nigeria and also Ifeoluwaadeniyi, a member of ACV represented Nigeria at the 4th Young General Assembly sponsoredby UNICEF in Romania from 5th – 16th August, 2003’.

‘African Children Voices has produced successful children who have grown into adults in various fields of endeavors such as law, medicine, arts, education, engineering, media e.t.c. Other programmes conceptualized and produced by the founder of African Children Voices; Mr. Kola Obadimu Jnr. to develop the children include schools debate which was produced in conjunction with Park Inn by Radisson Abeokuta with the support of Kenya Airways and Air Namibia.

African Child DTV talk show, The chamber and I have a dream. In addition, a new programme titled, ’Tori Ola Wa (Because of our tomorrow) a TV talk show on mentorship which production will commence on November 19, 2025 coincides with African Children Voices 25th anniversary’.

‘The founder, Kola Obadimu Jnr. on behalf of the entire Alumnus of African Children Voices rejoice with the entire world children on the world children’s day. may you all live to fulfil your dreams’, Obadimu Jnr wrote.
