There comes a moment in the life of every people when they must choose between temporary gain and eternal regret. For Ogun State, that moment is 2027.
This election is not merely about political parties. It is about whether we will preserve the identity, dignity, and heritage handed down to us by our forefathers or surrender it for fleeting promises and election gifts.
Nigeria is a federation. The principle behind a federation is simple: every state should be governed by leaders who are genuinely rooted in its history, culture, and people. A governor should be someone whose life, reputation, and commitment are firmly tied to the land he seeks to lead. When things go wrong, the people should know where to find him not just politically, but morally and culturally.
Our elders have always said, “Eni toba Lokún ní ìdí, kò ní bà ilé jẹ́.” A person without deep roots in a land may never truly carry its burdens as his own.
Today, many Ogun people are asking legitimate questions about those seeking to govern us. Where have they spent their lives? Where have they built their political careers? Where have they invested their loyalty? These are not questions of hatred or discrimination,they are questions of accountability.
When respected leaders publicly raise concerns about a candidate’s connection to Ogun State, those concerns deserve thoughtful consideration. Democracy demands that voters ask questions before they cast their votes.
Our history teaches us that leadership is a sacred trust. Our fathers fought to build this state. They protected its honour and preserved its traditions. We have no moral right to gamble away that inheritance.
My dear people of Ogun State, do not exchange your children’s future for a few days of cash. The money distributed during elections will disappear, but the consequences of a wrong choice may remain for generations.
Before you accept any promise, ask yourself one question:
If this person has devoted most of his political life elsewhere, why has he now chosen Ogun?
Every citizen has the right to seek public office, but every community also has the right to carefully evaluate whether a candidate truly understands its history, values, and aspirations.
This election is bigger than any individual. It is about the future of Yewa, Egba, Ijebu, Remo, Awori, and every community that calls Ogun home. The governorship of Ogun State is not merely a political office. It is the custodianship of our heritage.
When our children ask us years from now, “What did you do when the future of Ogun was at stake?” may we proudly answer, “We stood for wisdom. We stood for our heritage. We voted with our conscience.”
My fellow Ogun indigenes, history is watching us. Our ancestors are watching us. Our children are depending on us.

Who gives staff of offices to our Obas and baale? The governor… Do you really want a non indigenes to crown your kings??? Is this who we are as Ogun indigenes?
Abomination is Abomination… if you put lipstick on.a pig it’s still a pig.. Do not vote because of sentiment. Do not vote because of propaganda. Do not vote because of money.
Vote because Ogun State deserves leadership that is deeply committed, accountable, and devoted to its people. The choice we make in 2027 will echo long after we are gone. May we choose wisely. May we protect the soul of Ogun State.
