Oyo State Government reaffirms commitment towards people’s social welfare services

The Oyo State government on Monday reaffirmed its commitment towards social welfare services for the citizens of the state, saying that it will recognized and support any group or social welfare related agencies especially in the areas of human social needs.

Penpushing reports that the Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Community Relations, Hon Olufemi Josiah made this known while speaking as a guest speaker at ‘One Day Stakeholders Volunteers Roundtable Forum’, an event organised by Community Chest Council (CCC) of Oyo State in collaboration with Oyo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion held in Ibadan.

The Governor aide  maintained that the state government will pay more attention to social welfare services of the people in the state for them to continually enjoying dividend of democracy by Governor Makinde led Peoples Democratic Party administration in the state.

The Special Assistant however urged Community Chest Council (CCC) to seek for legislation from the State House of Assembly that will compelled people to do cooperate social responsibility so that the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) can be achieved.

Penpushing further reports that the Chairman, Community Chest Council (CCC) Week, Reverend Joseph Ogundipe in his welcome address noted that the council consist of various Non-Governmental Organissation (NGOs) with social welfare agenda in the state.

“CCC is the umbrella body of all NGOs with social welfare agenda in the state under the uspicies of the Department of Social Welfare in the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion. Social welfare services in the state in it’s current efforts at ensuring consistent transformation in response to the denying state economy, technology, integration.”

Penpushing also reports that the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Alhaja Kafilat Olayiwola thanked the council for it’s activities over the years by complementary activities of the state government in the delivery of social welfare services to the people.

“You have touched many lives in Oyo State, you have been wonderful partners, and we shall continue to support you in the pursuit of your objectives and goals”, the women affairs commissioner said

Penpushing reports that, the Commissioner, however, called on well meaning Nigerians to joined hands in helping the less privilege and the downtrodden in the society.
