The All Progressives Congress (APC) has defeated African Democratic Congress (ADC) at polling unit of Rauf Aregbesola, who is a leader and national secretary of the party, after defecting from the ruling party last year

Penpushing reports that Aregbesola’s lost was recorded at the Osun State Governorship election held on Saturday, with record showing that at polling unit 001 Building Junction, Isare, Ward 08, Ilesa East Local Government Area, All Progressives Congress (APC) secured 256 votes to win for Bola Oyebamiji

The Accord Party Governorship Candidate Governor Ademola Adeleke came second with 43 votes, while the candidate of Aregbesola’s African Democratic Congress (ADC) Najeem Salaam came third with 13 votes.

Penpushing further reports that won the polling unit of former Osun State Governor and former Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, in Saturday’s governorship election in the state.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) of Aregbesola who was a former governor of the state in same vein suffered a defeat at another polling unit close to his family compound.

Penpushing also reports that at polling unit 007, Elegant D.C. (Agbon Arugbo), Isare, Ward 08, Ilesa East local government All Progressives Congress, (APC) polled 202 votes, while Accord Party (AP) secured 110 votes and African Democratic (ADC) secured 12 votes.

The result represents an early setback for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), whose candidate, Salaam, is being backed by Aregbesola, one of the party’s major political figures in Osun state.

Penpushing reports that Aregbesola remains one of the influential political figures in Osun State, having served two terms as governor, he became Minister of Interior under All Progressives Congress (APC) before defecting to African Democratic Congress (ADC), where he emerged as the National Secretary of the faction led by former Senate President David Mark.
