A 58 year old Pastor, Francis Abayomi has been arraigned before a magistrate court sitting in Iyaganku, Ibadan on Thursday, for allegedly defiling a 7 year old girl, in Ibadan, the State Capital.
Penpushing reports that the Family Court 1 Iyaganku Ibadan ordered that he should be remanded in the custody of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) at the State Headquater, Agodi Ibadan.
The court was told that the suspect allegedly defiled the victim without her consent and thereby committed an offence contrary to 2006 section 34(1) and punishable under Section 34 (2) of the Oyo State Child Right Law
The Anti Human trafficking Unit of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said that the command has attended to 343 cases in 2020 ranging from child trafficking, child abuse, child labour and street children, rape and defilement child in need of care and protection, physical assault and domestic violence.
Penpushing further reports that the command however frowned at issue of rape, defilement incident and all form of abuse on child and female gender, warning members of the public who engage in such act to desist from it or face the full wrath of the law and without compromise.
Meanwhile, the Magistrate, S,H Adebiyi adjourned the case till 25 January 2021.
