The Deputy Governorship Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ogun State ahead of 2027 poll, Chief (Mrs) Yemi Sowunmi-Kolapo has assured media of being accorded relevance in the party’s administration if voted into power.
Penpushing reports that Sowunmi-Kolapo gave the assurance at a media parley organized by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), held in Abeokuta, and encouraged journalists to avoid biased reportage.
The Deputy Governorship hopeful, who is a veteran and renowned journalist emphasized that media practitioners are most important, however, emphasized on need to embrace fair reporting
‘But one thing I want you to know is that in this journey, you are the most important realm in this journey. And we want you to support us, you know, there is something called fair reporting, and there’s something called bias reporting. As journalist, we are on our own. We are not tied to anybody’, she stated
Penpushing further reports that Sowunmi-Kolapo who expressed optimism on victory for Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Ogun State, equally called on journalists to join the team in prayers
‘Please be fair to us. I want to repeat again, refuse to be intimidated, because of being there will favor you more than you opting for continuity. We cannot continue something that will continue to give us pain. So on this note, I want to welcome you all once again to this gathering and also welcome you to the fresh air that will start to breathe in Ogun state from 2027
Penpushing also reports that other chieftains of the party in attendance include Governorship Candidate of the party, Hon Ladi Adebutu, Dr Abayomi Tella (Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party) and Prince Lekan Tejuoso (Party leader)
The others include Arch Kayode Adebayo (Publicity Secretary) and national assembly candidates, including Hon. Wale Ogunbanjo (Ijebu Central), Oluwafemi Omotayo (Ogun East), Ogunlola Olabode (Ogun West), and Segun Adekoya (Ijebu North Federal Constituency).
