By Dr. Gbenga Adeoye.

God has different ways of talking to people. He can use things created by him, He can also use events and at the same time, He can use people. At a time God use a donkey to speak to a prophet. Most people miss their time of visitation and deliverance when they chose not to pay attention to what God is saying, simply because they do not think God can use a particular person for reasons best known to them.

Wednesday, 12th August, 2026 is a day never to be forgotten for so many reasons; viz:

1. It was a night of Tributes in Honour of a departed Egba Son, Niyi Adeosun at Harbour Point Event Centre,. Victoria Island Lagos.

2. The man we all gathered to celebrate while on earth dislikes any form of funfair and publicity about his life. He cherished his privacy. He prefer to touch lives underground.

3. Friends and families confirmed he was a man who smiles even in the midst of tough situations.

4. Igbobi College Alumni member led by Mr Badejo spoke about him in a manner that people alive can begin to envy him even in death.Mr. Tunji Osuntokun also concluded that God favoured him by making his path to cross that of Niyi.

5. Former Governor of Lagos state, Babatunde Raji Fashola spoke about their friendship from Igbobi College, Yaba and the love for football. He explained why he added mighty to the nick name of Niyi to make it Mighty Sparrow as someone of his size should not be a sparrow with his striking’s skill as no 9 on the football field .He said , what people are saying today about Niyi’s humility is not new and that Niyi have been like that since their days at Igbobi College

6. His business partner, Armstrong spoke well of him for a smooth and cordial business relationship of over 25 years.

7. People flew to Nigeria simply to honour him at the night of Tributes. Daniel Ford team from London came in their numbers.

8. His intelligence was commended by all. Daniel Ford International through their M.D from the United Kingdom referred to him as someone who was full of strategy to solve problems and after solving the problem…He does not want the glory to be publicised .

9. His care for others, while he leaves himself was narrated by those who spoke from family and friends.

10. His brother spoke about the mischief they both enjoyed which is the stealing of each other’s T-shirt for fun whenever Niyi visits him in the US and whenever his brother visit him in Lagos, Nigeria.

11. His children call him the best dad on earth.

12. Boye insisted that no one can replace him. A man who loves his children so much that even when he saw a need to scold them he tells his wife; Kemi Adeosun to do that .

13. His brother said, anyone who meets him must like him and be his friend. My pastor in Abeokuta will refer to a man like Brother Niyi as a personable person.

14. He was a connector of people. I can relate to that as I have a friend named Dapo Aluko who is a genius in connecting people and increasing the network of friends.

15. Almost everyone confirmed he could remove his eyes to give others .

16. He supported many with capital for their business.

17. His wife refer to him as someone who makes you laugh from morning till evening at home.

18. No dull moment with him.

19. He detest arguing and quarrelling with people over money and so even if he invested in a business and the person begins to act funny,.Niyi Adeosun will tell the person to go away with everything.

20. He was not materialistic and does not seek fame.

21. He was Humility personified, to summarise his life.

Having said all of these about him.

Then come two powerful messages.

FIRST ONE

Pastor Irukwu Agu of RCCG, Jesus House London preached a powerful message of salvation analysed using Insurance Policy, premium payment and the need to mitigate against the risk of going to hell by taking the policy at no cost since the premium have been fully paid by the death of the saviour . He used the same to convince his dad when he was over 80 to accept Jesus. He spoke about the policy as key and holy living and good character as perfection of the saints but main focus is to accept Jesus first and grow over time to be perfect.

Very instructive.

He admonished those yet to be saved to take the Policy now as the appointed time of death is not predictable and since the policy does not require the payment of a premium as Jesus already paid it all through His death on the Cross. Very deep, clear and simple message of salvation.

SECOND MESSAGE.

During the Goodwill Message by the Governor of Ogun State; the Holy Ghost descended on him and he began to speak as follows:

1. What would your spouse say about you if you die today.?

2. What would your children say about you after your death.

3. What would your neighbour say about you.?

4. What would your siblings say about you.

5. Would they say, your presence makes them laugh and spread joy?

6. Just like Kemi Adeosun ask “who will now make her laugh”? What would your spouse say about you.?

7. Dapo Abiodun never spoke about politics.

8. He in fact referenced the story of the life of someone at the event he attended earlier ; where a GM of a bank was said to be the first to come to church to wash toilets and clean the church because the venue would have been used by a club a day before.

9. Dapo Abiodun went further to ask all leaders to reflect and stop thinking that we are where we are because of our efforts, intelligence or power and that anyone can leave this earth any time.

10. After his powerful sermon, few of us gathered to discuss the message, myself, Chairman of NRS Zaach Adedeji, Ambassador to Austria Mrs Florence Ajimobi, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun and Prince Dapo Abiodun while Senator Salisu Afolabi was looking at us and smiling as we reviewed the sermon by Dapo Abiodun and Pastor Agu but more importantly how God used Dapo to speak the truth powerfully. We all reflected on the message and concluded that God spoke to us.

11. Mrs Ajimobi then now ask, how much should we now demand from our husbands and those who are now supposed to take care of us as she look at Zaach.Dapo Abiodun said, all other issues relating to making amends between spouses and families is domestic matter for everyone to go home and deal with as we reflect on those words.

12. Senator representing Ogun Central, Salisu Afolabi then asked me as he was enjoying our conversation on the sermon, if my conclusion now is that Prince Dapo Abiodun is now a pastor?. To him I replied that God can use anybody and on the 12th August, 2026, God spoke through Prince Dapo Abiodun.

13. I ended the conversation as we all prepare to depart that may God help both the preacher and those of us that heard him to reflect on the life of our brother Niyi Adeosun and live a life that people around us will have many good things to say about us after our departure and more importantly our spouses and immediate family.

14. We prayed that just as Pastor Agu preached, may we all not lose the salvation and eternity policy because the premium have been fully paid on our behalf.

15. While I promised our Governor, his wife, Mrs Ajimobi, Zaach Adedeji and Senator Salisu Afolabi that I will pen down the message for many more people to learn from and get blessed immediately.

16. Now that I have done my part, as you read this article, ask yourself, what would you be remembered for.? Write down at least 7 bad things to delete from your life and 7 good things to keep up.
