The Fuji music legend Wasiu Ayinde, a known critic of former Olusegun Obasanjo has displayed sense of self-discipline and maturity as he openly prostrate to greet the former President at a public function.
Penpushing reports that Obasanjo was a guest at the 60th birthday of Olota of Ota, Oba Adeyemi Obalanlege, where the fuji maestro popularly called K1 De Ultimate was on band stand to perform at the ceremony.
The royal event took place on Thursday at Ota, and Obasanjo’s arrival drew attention of hundreds of guests, including Ayinde, who stopped mid-performance, lowered himself fully to the floor, and prostrated to appreciate Obasanjo.
Penpushing further reports that the former President walked over to Ayinde, patted him on the back in acknowledgment, and later took the microphone to address the gathering and greet the celebrant.
The encounter between the duo on stage at the birthday celebration stood out as a vivid display of Yoruba cultural respect, with the Fuji icon’s full prostration and the elder statesman’s subsequent greeting of the monarch drawing widespread admiration for the blend of tradition, music, and royal honour.
