The remains of the veteran Nollywood actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, will be committed to mother earth on Monday in his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State.
Penpushing reports that the deceased colleague, Jide Kosoko on his Instagram page disclosed that the corpse would be taken to Ilaro on Sunday, where a lying-in-state ceremony would be held on Monday.
‘With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of ALHAJI TAIWO HASSAN, popularly known as OGOGO, who passed away at 3:00 p.m. today Sunday, 23rd August 2026. At 66 years’, the statement read.
Penpushing further reports that Kosoko explained that a lying in state will hold on Monday August, 24 2026 by 11:00 a.m, at Asade Agunloye Pavilion Ground, Ilaro, Ogun State
“His remains will be taken to his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State today where the lying-in-state ceremony will take place tomorrow. Monday, 24th August 2026 Time: 11:00 a.m. We pray that Almighty Allah grants him eternal rest and gives his family, friends, colleagues and loved ones the strength and fortitude to bear this great loss. May his soul rest in perfect peace. Ameen.”
