Three female suspects have been arrested by the operatives of Delta State Police Command during a raid on drug hideouts in Ogbomoro and Ugolo communities in Warri metropolis.
Penpushing reports that the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, disclosed in a statement and gave identities of the suspects as include Favour Isaac, 25; Favour Felix, 24; and Samson Precious, 19.
The operation was carried out by operatives attached to the Effurun Area Command following credible intelligence, and during the operation, police executed a search warrant at the suspects’ hideouts along River Road in the Ogbomoro community.
Penpushing further reports that recovered items included 21 bottles of CSC codeine, two canisters containing nitrous oxide, popularly known as “laughing gas,” two packs of suspected psychoactive chewing gum branded “Highness Gum,” and 640 grams of substances suspected to be Canadian Loud concealed in bags and containers.
The statement stated that preliminary investigations revealed that one Rukewe Tega Isaac, who is currently at large, was allegedly the major supplier behind the drug network, stressing that efforts were ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspect and other members of the syndicate.
Penpushing also reports that the Commissioner of Police, Yemi Oyeniyi, reiterated the command’s resolve to sustain aggressive operations against drug trafficking and related crimes across the state.
The police boss pointed out that the abuse and circulation of illicit drugs remained a major driver of violent crimes and social vices among youths and urged residents to continue supporting the police with timely information.
