Seven people were on Sunday burnt to death in a road crash which occurred around Ogun State Property and Investment Corporation (OPIC) axis of Lagos-Ibadan expressway with corpses deposited at at Olabisi Onabajo University Teaching Hospital morgue Sagamu, as at the time of filing this report.

Penpushing reports that Chief Route Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC), Ogun State Command,  Florence Okpe  made this known in a statement, adding that total of 22 persons were involved which comprised of 7 male adult, 8 female adult, 4 male children and 3 female children.

The Public Education Officer explained that 14 persons were injured 4 male adults, 5 female adults, 2 male children and 3 female children, adding those burnt include 2 male adults, 3 female adults and 2 male children.

Penpushing further reports Okpe said one vehicle, a Mazda bus was involved with registration number BDG993YG a Mazda bus, stating that the suspected causes of the lone crash were excessive speed, brake failure which led to loss of control and the vehicle went on flames.

The Chief Route Commander added that injured victims were taken to Lagos state Accident Emergency center Ojota, while the corpses were deposited at Olabisi Onabajo University Teaching Hospital morgue Sagamu..

Penpushing also reports that the statement said the Sector Commander commiserated with the family of the victims, and also advised motorists to shun speed and always have a routine vehicle check for good maintenance and replacement of any defect.
