Road safety corps acquires five additional patrol vehicles for Lagos-Ibadan expressway

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Ogun State Command has acquired another fleet of five Hilux vehicles to complement efforts of the existing ones for its operations along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, as well as Ogun State roads

Penpushing reports that, the unveiling and commissioning of the vehicles took place at the headquarters of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) located at the Government Reservation Area (GRA), Abeokuta in the presence of journalists and other stakeholders.

The Sector Commander Ahmed Umar in his speech explained that, the vehicles were donated by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) RSS 11, Abuja, to be deployed for use at the designated routes on the ever busy Lagos-Ibadan expressway and environs.

Penpushing further reports that, Umar accompanied by management staff of the Corps, explained that the vehicles would be assigned within interval of 7 kilometers each of the highway, for effective coverage

The Sector Commander, disclosed that with the new acquisition, the command now has fifteen vehicles for operations on the affected roads, within its area of operations, adding that this would help in checkmating excesses of motorists on the roads, and reduce road crashes

‘This is another beautiful day for FRSC Ogun State Command. The acquisition of the new five Hilux vehicles is from the RSS11,Abuja. It is to be deployed on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The deployment will be of 7 kilometeres interval’, he stated

Penpushing also reports that, the agency boss pointed out that with this, the command will be able to effectively checkmate incessant road crashes across major roads in Ogun State and environs, adding that the new acquisition is an added value to the corps operations

‘With this, it makes it 15 vehicles to checkmate incessant clashes. The command is very happy over this development, I am glad to present the vehicles for commissioning, and want to thank the leadership of the Federal Road Safety Corps for this support’, Umar stressed.

Penpushing reports that, Commissioner for Transport in Ogun State, Engr Gbenga Dairo in his remarks commended leadership of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) for adequate consideration given to the command headquarters located in Ogun State.

The Commissioner said the Ogun State Government is proud to the associated with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), particularly, the Umar led command, adding that both men and officers are known to be proactive in carrying out their duties

Penpushing further reports that, Dairo added that the state government was equally concern about welfare of motorist on the major road which spread across its jurisdiction, stressing that the state government was pleased that Lagos-Ibadan expressway is placed on priority, regards roads control and management.

The Special Adviser on Security to the Ogun State Governor, Assistant Inspector General of Police, Olusola Zubair(retired) in his own remarks said the acquisition of the additional five vehicles showed that the Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) was concern about welfare of motorists

Penpushing also reports that, he noted that the new acquisition was a welcome development for the agency, motorists and other road users, across the length and breadth of Ogun State, adding that it will address challenges on the roads.

The Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole in his own contributions said he was delighted to be part of the history of the acquisition and commissioning, adding that the operational vehicles came at the right time

Penpushing reports that, Bankole explained that Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) has remained reliable partner with the police, with assurance that the police command will continued with the agency in ensuring that their work is done seamlessly

Meanwhile, other notable stakeholders present at the event include Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji (Founder Penpushing Media), Elder Solomon Adeniyi(Ogun State Coordinator Special Marshal),Assistant Commander Teslim Adedeji(Area Commander Operations and General Service, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps)  ,Ahaji Kabiru(Seriki Hausa Iperu), Alhaji Inuwa(Seriki Hausa Sagamu) and Alhaji Yaya Garba(Seriki Hausa Ijebu-Ode)
