The crisis within the ranks and file of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has again reared its ugly head, following power tussle which crept into the ongoing revalidation exercise and led to invitation of some party leaders by the police.

Penpushing reports that, seven of the party chieftains were on Thursday summoned by the Ogun State Police Command, following a petition allegedly filed by a faction of the party over the crisis which emanated in the ongoing revalidation exercise.

The summoned party leaders, which include Chief Sunday Showunmi, Hon Femi Allen-Taylor, Hon Wasiu Sodipo, Hon Akeem Odejimi, Mr Aremu Omidiji, Mr Lekan Soetan and Sunday Omidiji, were earlier asked to report to the Police station at Oke-Itoku, Abeokuta.

Penpushing further reports that, after being interrogated by the station, sources said they were taken to Area Command of the Police Force located at Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, and thereafter transported to the police headquarters Eleweran for further interrogation.

The seven party leaders on arrival at Eleweran police headquarters, were billed to see the Commissioner of Police for further interrogation, following the alleged petition against them by the factional members of the party

Penpushing also reports that, the police command on its own part, was trying to amicably resolved the differences of the factions, but the petitioners were no where to be found, as the seven members waited endlessly.

The absence of the petitioners, it was learnt caused a setback for the proposed amicable intervention by the police, hence, the seven party members alleged by the petitioners who waited for hours were asked to leave at about 5.30pm
