Protesters under the banner of the Take-It-Back Movement on Monday defy rainfall and stormed the Oyo State Government House in Ibadan, demanding urgent action over the abduction of pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area, and worsening insecurity in the country.
Penpushing reports that the protesters had earlier converged on Mokola Roundabout, and thereafter, marched through parts of Ibadan before arriving at the Government House at Agodi, chanting solidarity songs.
The protesters were carrying placards with various inscriptions, and vowed not to be deterred by the downpour, describing their action as a civic duty to draw attention to the plight of affected families.
Penpushing further reports that some of the placards had inscriptions such as “Security for all, not for a few,” “End kidnapping in Oyo State now,” “Safer roads and communities now,” and “Protect farmers, traders and students.”
