The All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State on Tuesday trooped to the major streets to garner support for the Governorship aspiration of Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi ahead of 2027 poll

Penpushing reports that the party loyalists under the aegis of ‘Ogun State Pathfinder for Yayi for Good Governance’, organized the street walk as efforts to mobilize for Adeola, as well as President Bola Tinubu second term ambition

The procession with various pro-banners for Adeola and Tinubu which was the first leg of a three-part sensitisation tour across three senatorial districts of the state declared that Ogun West was ready to produce the next governor of the state.

Penpushing further reports that the rally attracted participants from Ipokia, Yewa South, Yewa North, Imeko-Afon and Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Areas, and started from Ansar-ud-deen Nursery and Primary School in Ota passed through major roads in the area, including Sango Under-Bridge, Sango Garage and the Lagos-Abeokuta Tollgate before returning to the starting point.

The convener of the group Comrade Kayode Agbeyangi, speaking at the Lagos-Abeokuta Tollgate, said the street mobilisation was deliberately designed to take political engagement directly to the people.

Penpushing also reports that Agbeyangi who it the National Secretary of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), explained that political leaders could no longer afford to engage the electorate only through conventional town-hall meetings, stressing that grassroots participation was essential ahead of the 2027 elections.

“We have to come down to the grassroots, put ourselves on the street, and let people feel that we have their concerns at heart. Let them see that we can walk and do a walk for life, rather than sitting in halls’, he said

Penpushing reports that Agbeyangi declared that the political mood in the senatorial district had changed, arguing that after years of supporting governorship aspirations from other parts of the state, Ogun West was now prepared to present one of its own for the governorship.

The convener urged residents to support Adeola, emphasizing that the senator had begun implementing projects and initiatives across the state even before seeking the governorship.

“Yayi is already doing a lot of projects now, even before becoming governor. The people can see what he is doing; it is not hearsay and it is not an unfulfilled promise. When he becomes governor in 2027, we believe he will do much more’, he stated

Penpushing further reports that Agbeyangi in similar vein, appealed to Nigerians to give President Tinubu more time to implement his policies, warning that terminating his administration midway could undermine its long-term objectives.

“Let us have patience; let this man complete his job. Don’t cut it short. If we cut it short, we are cutting the vision of our life, our children, and all of us short. Yayi, we know; Yayi, we trust, and Yayi is the one capable of delivering’, he added

Penpushing also reports that in his remarks Ogun State Chairman of the National Secretary of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Mustapha Adewale, popularly known as Yaro, commended Agbeyangi for returning to the state and actively participating in the political process.

The union boss urged the people of Ogun State to support Adeola in the 2027 governorship election, while equally calling for continued support for President Tinubu.

“I want everyone to support Yayi because the convener is a good man. However, our support should not stop with Yayi. We should also extend our support to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term so that the good work can continue’, he added

Penpushing reports that a coordinator of All Progressives Congress (APC) at the rally Olori Ganiyat Kuye, said her support for Adeola was based on what she described as his interventions in infrastructure, agriculture and employment.

The woman claimed that the senator had facilitated road projects in different parts of Ogun State, created employment opportunities for more than 300 market women and supported farmers with tractors and fertilizer.

Penpushing further reports that she also cited the provision of transformers and other electricity infrastructure to communities as part of Adeola’s interventions.
