The rumored Presidential ambition of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo ahead of the 2023 general election on Saturday received boost, as some politicians converged on Kano State to drag him to the race and declared their support.
Penpushing reports that, a political organization known as ‘New Tribe’ is said to be responsible for the project held at Meena Event Centre, Kano, and had prominent personalities which include: Olusola Adeyeye, a former senator for Osun Central, and a member of the House of Representatives for Tarauni federal constituency of Kano, Hafizu Kawu in attendance.
The National Coordinator of the group, Nonso Nnamani, was quoted saying that Osinbajo would be a President for all Nigerians and will consolidate on the achievements of the current administration.
Penpushing further reports that, Nnamani expressed optimism that Osinbajo if elected will be a detribalised President in the new Nigerian project and urged Nigerians to support him as successor of President Muhammad Buhari when he leaves office next year.
The rumored ambition of Osinbajo is said to be causing confusion within the family of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), as his political god father, Bola Tinubu recently declared his interest for the exalted seat.
Penpushing reports that, it is recalled that, Tinubu made this known to journalists after a closed-door meeting with Buhari at State House on Monday in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory(FCT),adding that he also made his ambition known to the incumbent President
The National leader of the ruling party, who played major role in emergence of Buhari as candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) before becoming the President, explained that he has informed Buhari about his Presidential ambition.
Penpushing further reports that Tinubu said it has been his age-long ambition to lead the country one day, adding that, though he is yet to inform Nigerians, because he was still consulting, but said Buhari is already in the known.
