The Nigeria police have identified the operatives who allegedly extorted N3 million at gunpoint from a Nigerian man based in Ghana, Kelechi Isaac, who returned home for a weeding of a friend in Bayelsa State

Penpushing reports that the Force Public Relations Officer Muyiwa Adejobi, disclosed this in a post on his X handle on Monday adding that the authorities of the Police Force Headquarters and the Commissioner of Police in Bayelsa State, Francis Idu, have taken up the matter.

The police spokesperson was, however, silence on the true identities of the alleged operatives or the command where they were serving, and was equally not specific if the suspects have been arrested but investigation was on

“We will continue to act on it tomorrow, Monday (today), for further investigation. The act is unacceptable and condemned. I personally engaged the commissioner of police, and we are on it. Justice will be served’, Adejobi assured.

Penpushing further reports that the Balyesa State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Musa Mohammed when contacted on Monday confirmed that the alleged operatives had been identified, adding that they are from Zone 16, which is the Zonal Police Headquarters in the state

“For us in the Police Command, we have been able to trace the operatives. And those operatives are from Zone 16 Police Headquarters, not the State Police Command’, Mohammed, a superintendent of police said.

Penpushing also reports that Mohammed, however, declined to comment if the alleged police officers have been arrested, stressing that he was not in position to confirmed that, but the Zone 16 Police Headquarters in better position to do that

The victim, hails from Nguru Nworie, a community in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo state, it is recalled narrated her ordeal in the hands of the alleged policemen who he said extorted N3million from his at gun point on August 26, 2024 at Odi Axis of Bayelsa State.

Penpushing reports that he said five police operatives flagged down his vehicle while he was driving back from a marriage ceremony with two of his friends, and subsequently forced him at gunpoint to transfer the N3 million to two separate bank accounts.
