A member of Penpushing platform, Affi Israel- Ibanga has been elected as the President of Uyo Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture (UYOCCIMA), at a transparent election held on March 31, 2022
Penpushing reports that, the election of Ibanga made her the 13th and 2nd female President of the chamber, and during the poll she was elected unanimously by all the thirty-three voters at the centre.
The Helemah Event Centre, venue of the election had in large number the gathering of Organised Private Sector (OPS), to be part of the epoch making event, which was the 13th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the body
Penpushing further reports that in her acceptance speech, Ibanga called for support from all members, with assurance that, as one united family, she would lead the chamber to greater height, adding that, she was optimistic about the passion of members towards the positive growth of the body.
The President added that, she would also be prayerful at all time for the success of the chamber, and enjoined members to do same, for the betterment of the body, the state and country in general
Penpushing also reports that, the mission statement of the chamber has it that, it is to provide and promote ethical and quality business leadership in achieving the full economic, political and social potential of our society.
The objectives include promoting and protecting the business interests of members, to encourage the orderly expansion and development of all segments of Akwa Ibom State economy in particular and Nigeria in general and to encourage and promote the interest of the private sector.
Penpushing reports that, others are to contribute ideas to the overall economic prosperity and stability of Akwa Ibom State and the nation, to provide a network for national and international business contacts and opportunities for members, to provide avenue(s) for the advancement of members through training, education, and information, and to cultivate and nurture members to high levels of integrity and business proficiency.
