Orile-Imo community commences grandstyle plans for maiden coronation of traditional ruler

The Orile-Imo community in Obafemi-Owode local government area of Ogun State has commenced preparations in grandstyle for the maiden coronational anniversary of traditional ruler of the community, Oba Oluwambe Sogaolu.

Penpushing reports that the Chairman Publicity Committee of the coronation Deji Sowunmi made this known on Tuesday at a press conference held at Iwe-Iroyin Press Centre, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta.

The spokesperson disclosed that the ceremony has been designed to reflect the values of the monarch, adding that the week-long programme will commence on Monday July 21, 2025 and will climax on Saturday July 26, 2025, with a thanksgiving service.

‘This historic celebration marks a significant milestone in the life of our royal father, whose ascension to the throne has brought peace, development and renewed cultural pride to Orile-Imo’ Sowunmi stated.

‘Over the years, Kabiyesi has epitomized visionary leadership, selfless service and deep commitment to the unity and progress of our people. His reign has rekindled hope, and it is only fitting that we come together in celebration and gratitude’, he added

Penpushing further reports that he gave details of the programme which include medical outreach involving free medical consultations, treatments and minor procedures to be conducted for the residents, in partnership with reputable medical professionals

The other itemized programmes will be a public lecture themed, ’Preserving Our Heritage in an Emerging Developing Society” while there will be quiz competition, showcasing cultural heritage and awards.

Penpushing also reports that others are jumat service to seek blessings for the traditional ruler and entire community as well as chieftaincy installations of deserving individuals into honorary titles, and inauguration of legacy projects facilitated by the monarch.

The Chairman Publicity Committee added that the celebrations will conclude with a solemn thanksgiving at St Paul’s Anglican Church, Orile-Imo, to return glory to God for a peaceful and impactful reign, to be followed with a reception at the palace

‘We use this medium to invite all sons and daughters of Orile-Imo, well-wiishers, fiends, stakeholders to be part of this historic celebration. Your presence and participation will not only honour Kabiyesi, but also reaffirm our collective commitment to the growth and development of our dear community’, Sowunmi emphasized
