The International Sports Institute Education Trust Limited is set to confer distinguished fellow award to veteran sports journalist, Kunle Oluwusi in recognition of his unwavering belief in Sports-For-Development.

Penpushing reports that Founder and President of the Institute Professor Oluwaseun Omotayo made this known in a letter of nomination forwarded to Oluwusi, who was a former Chairman Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ogun State

‘On behalf of the Advisory Board and Management of The Sports Institute Educational Trust Ltd/Gte – ISI, I am delighted to formally notify you of your nomination and conferment as a distinguished fellow of ISI DFISI’, Omotayo wrote.

Penpushing further reports that the statement added that the ceremony is scheduled to hold Saturday, September 5, 2026 by 10am at Main Hall, Renew Empire, number 160, Aker Road, Rumenilene, Port Harcourt, Rivers State

‘This honor is in recognition of your Distinguished career as a Veteran Sports Journalist, your unwavering belief in Sports-For-Development, your service as a former Chairman of SWAN Ogun State Chapter, and your contributions to Capacity Building and Critical Thinking Techniques through TV and Radio Sports Programs’, the letter emphasised.

Penpushing also reports that Oluwusi is a consummate broadcaster and a pillar of sports journalism in Nigeria, former Chairman of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Ogun State.

The veteran journalist has used the media to educate, inspire and mobilize youth through Sports, a firm believer in sports-for-development and has consistently promoted programs that build capacity and critical thinking among Young Athletes and journalists.

Penpushing reports that the institute pointed out that Oluwusi, who is currently General Manager of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic F.M Radio Station, Abeokuta, after the conferment shall be addressed as “Distinguished Fellow, ISI” – DFISI which wear the PIN and put after his name

‘For his decades of service to Sports Communication and Development, ISI is proud to confer on him the rank of Distinguished Fellow of the Institute. You shall be addressed as “Distinguished Fellow, ISI” – DFISI which wear the PIN and put after your name

Penpushing further reports that the statement explained that on media role, he will be the International Sports Institute Media Ambassador for Sports-For-Development And Capacity Building

The institute added that Oluwusi will henceforth be given slots at the International Sports Institute (ISI) summits, workshops, and training programs, adding that the ceremony will be part of the institute first graduation ceremony.
