The Yeye Moremi Oodua Chief(Mrs) Olufunso Amosun has commissioned Artificial Intelligence and Digital Training Hub at Moremi Yekere Compound, Ile-Ife, Osun State, with a capacity to train about 360 young people in digital and artificial intelligence skills every six weeks.
Penpushing reports that the commissioning was part of activities involving the former Ogun State first lady, who also attended to celebrate the Olojo Festival in Ile-Ife.
The Olojo Festival celebrates the history, traditions and cultural identity of the people of Ile-Ife, while also promoting the preservation of cultural heritage and its potential to contribute to tourism, employment, enterprise and investment.
Penpushing further reports that the training hub, which was constructed and equipped by Amosun and commissioned by the Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, is designed to provide young people with free access to practical training in artificial intelligence, digital skills, coding, graphics and other technology-related areas.
The centre has a capacity of 30 people per class, with three training sessions held daily and the first class would run from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the second from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., while the third class would hold from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., with participants attending three times a week
Penpushing reports that the former Ogun State first lady speaking during the commissioning project, said the initiative was established as a community project to prepare young people in Osun State for the rapidly changing digital world.
”Training programme would last about six weeks, allowing the centre to train approximately 360 young people within each training cycle’, Amosun said.
Penpushing further reports that she noted that the curriculum had been structured to equip participants with practical and marketable skills that could enable them to secure employment or become self-employed after completing the programme.

The wife of former Governor Ibikunle Amoaun listed graphic design, social media management and the application of artificial intelligence to business activities among the skills participants would acquire at the centre.
Penpushing also reports that she added that the decision to establish an Artificial Intelligence(AI) and digital training hub, rather than a conventional vocational centre, was aimed at ensuring that the initiative remained sustainable and relevant to changing demands in the digital economy.
The former first lady added that the curriculum would be reviewed and updated as technology evolves, stressing that new digital skills would be introduced whenever existing ones became outdated.
Penpushing reports that Amosun said the world was changing rapidly, with technology transforming the way people learn, work, communicate and create opportunities, stressing that the need for young people to move beyond being mere consumers of technology and become creators, innovators, entrepreneurs and responsible leaders in the digital age.
“AI and Digital Training Hub was established to provide young people with access to practical digital education, artificial intelligence, coding and technology skills in an environment that promotes discipline, creativity, confidence and excellence”, she said.
Penpushing further reports that she described the hub as more than a community project, saying it represented an investment in human capital and a platform through which young people could discover their potential and prepare for future opportunitiesm stressing that the initiative is expected to provide free digital training opportunities for unemployed graduates and other youths interested in acquiring technology-related skills.
The Global Ambassador of the Queen Moremi Ajashoro Initiative, Olori Adronke Ademiluyi Ogunwusi, said the initiative would help address the challenge of unemployment among young Nigerians by equipping them with employable skills.
Penpushing also reports that Olori pointed out that Nigeria produces a large number of graduates every year, while the available white-collar jobs remain insufficient to accommodate the growing number of job seekers.
The Global Ambassador explained that training young people in areas such as graphics, entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence and other digital skills would create opportunities for them to become employable and contribute to the nation’s economy.
