The condolence letter written to the widow, Funmilayo Majekodunmi, who is also old student of the school, which was signed by secretary of the association, Liafis Aina, lamented that the former students, as well as current students received the demise news with heavy hearts

‘With heavy heart and deep sorrow, we the entire member of Egba Obafemi Community Grammar School Old Student’s Association write to condole with you on the demise of your husband, our own “Senior Majek” (as he is fondly called)’, the letter reads.

‘It was yesterday that Taiwo Akinyetun broke the news on EOCGS Old students’ association platform that your husband, the first senior prefect of our then secondary school, our indefatigable Senior Lanre Majek has died!’

‘Sincerely speaking, many of us are still struggling to believe the news, we actually continue to hope that there was a mistake somewhere! My dear Vic, we commiserate with you, when situation like this arises, it is only almighty God that can console you, may almighty God console you, your children and the entire family at large’.

Penpushing also reports that, the letter requested for the funeral arrangement to enable the old students participated as way to give the deceased final honour and respect, in view of his known positive contributions towards the growth of the association and the school.

The former students disclosed in the letter that, arrangements have been put in place in Nigeria, to organise a commendation service for their departed colleague, to honour him and eulogise him as a day of tribute

Penpushing reports that, the late Majekodunmi was a member of Penpushing platform, who was known for his proactive nature in news dissemination for the benefits of members and other readers across the globe

The founder of Penpushing media, Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji, in his reaction described the death of Majekodunmi, is known bosom friend of over four decades , as disturbing to him and other members  of the platform, as well as the Editorial Board of the organisation

‘For over 24 hours, I could not believe. I thought it’s one of the April fool joke. But it dawned on me when he didn’t pick my several telephone calls, which is very unusual of him, even when wasn’t with phone, he would later find time to return my missed calls’, Kayode-Adedeji lamented.

‘But 24 hours after he didn’t pick my calls as the phone continue to ring, nor return the calls. Honestly, am short of words, because there has never been a week we do not discuss, and share profuse jokes all time. All are gone. Lanre, continued to rest in perfect peace’, the founder wrote.
