The traditional ruler of Igbeinland  in Obafemi Owode Local Government area of Ogun State, Oba  Festus Makinde has raised alarm over alleged impersonation by one Mrs Morufa Odebiyi as the Iyaloja of Mowe town.

Penpushing reports that, the royal father, to this effect had written a petition to the Ogun State Government  dated June 17,2021 with copies sent to Assistant Inspector General of Police,Zone 2, Area Commander Owode-Egba Divisional Police Headquarters ,Divisional Police Officer, Mowe and Permanent  Secretary, Ministry of Chieftaincy.

The monarch while asking authorities of government to caution Odebiyi to stop parading herself as the Iyaloja of Mowe which is under his domain, emphasised that the authentic Iyalode of Mowe town remained Nofisat Ajoke Makinde.

Penpushing further reports that, the traditional ruler while re-affirming Makinde as the only recognized and authentic Iyaloja, disclosed that he(monarch) approved and installed  her(Makinde) on May 31, 2021, as well as issuing her a certificate.

‘’Mrs Nofisat Ajoke Makinde was installed as Iyaloja of Igbein tile toko of Igbeinland with her seat at Mowe market. This installation was approved by me, as the Onigbein of Igbeinland. Following my letter to the local government, she was also given the certificate of recognition by the Obafemi-Owode local government of Ogun State’, he emphasised.

Penpushing also reports that, the traditional ruler said it was amazing to him that, on Thursday, June 10, 2021, a group  of persons purportedly came  to install one Mrs Morufa Odebiyi as Iyaloja of Mowe contrary to the palace decision

‘This action is an affront on the palace and a breach of peace hitherto existing in the community. I therefore urge your office to issue appropriate directives in order to maintain peace and tranquility’, he wrote

Penpushing reports that, the royal father said he cannot fold his arms  for a person or group of people  to set his domain on fire by act of illegalities, stressing that he finds it necessary to draw attention of relevant authorities on need for peace in Mowe and environs.

‘Because Mowe is one of the villages/towns in my domain and I cannot fold my arms for someone or group of persons to set my domain on fire by the way of illegal activities. This action is an affront on the palace and a breach of peace hitherto existing in the community’, he emphasised.
