The Ogun State Government is to distribute, install and energize transformers to number of identified communities in need  in the twenty local government areas of the state, adding that this became necessary as part of essential duty of the administration to provide the communities with basic amenities.

Penpushing reports that Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperatives, Hon. Abayomi Hunye made this known during a meeting with stakeholders of Community Development Associations (CDAs) in Ikenne local government, as part of his familiarisation and inspection tour of all council areas of the State.

The Commissioner in the company of stakeholders and leaders of Ikenne community inspected Idotun, Oyemuti, Ogere Toll gate, Tiwa New Town, and Palace of Onirolu of Irolu that would be receiving the transformers in the council areas and the locations for their installation.

Penpushing further reports that, the commissioner emphasized the need for Community Development Associations (CDAs) to make their needs known to government for support where and when necessary.

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Fatai Ogunlana in his remarks boasted that better days are here for communities across the state, as there is a symbiotic relationship between the Community Development Associations and government’.

Penpushing also reports that, in his own contribution, Chairman, Ikenne Local Government, Hon. Olusegun Ogunleye appreciated the Governor for reaching out to the masses and putting smiles on the faces of people at the grassroots, stating that the provision of transformers to selected communities would serve as a great opportunity for the people.

The Zonal Chairman for Ikenne Community Development Council, Hon. Segun Taiwo on his part lauded the State government and the Ministry for bringing succor to communities in Ikenne, pledging the support of the community to the government.
