The Senate on Wednesday sacked its Chief Whip, Ali Ndume, for criticising President Bola Tinubu’s administration, and that he (Tinubu) had been caged in the Presidential Villa by cabals preventing well-meaning people from physically discussing the truth with him

Penpushing reports that the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, announced the sack of Ndume, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) representing Borno South Senatorial District). after many of the senators supported it during the plenary

The embattled federal lawmaker was subsequently replaced with Senator Tahir Monguno representing All Progressives Congress(APC) (Borno North, while the decision followed a letter from national chairman of the ruling party  Abdullahi Ganduje, and Bashir Ajibola, the party secretary.

Penpushing further reports that the Senate President read the letter during the plenary which recommended that the Senate relieve Ndume of his position because of his unguarded utterances that are against the Nigerian government.

The National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the letter described Ndume as someone who is bent on dividing the country and as someone who is not putting the country in a better position in the international community.

Penpushing also reports that the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) subsequently recommended that Ndume’s position in the Senate should be taken over by Monguno, while the Senate President after reading the letter, put it to vote and the senators voted overwhelmingly in support of it.

Meanwhile, the Senate President approved the recommendation and directed the Sergeant at Arms to walk the Monguno, who was appointed in replacement of Ndume to the seat of the senate whip at the front row.
