The Motorcycle Operators Union of Nigeria (MOUN), has warned all members to shun the planned nationwide protest, declaring that anyone caught participating will face the wrath of the law with stiff penalties.

Penpushing reports that the National President of the Union Dr.  Olusola Rasak Sotayo gave the caution note and warning in a statement while addressing journalists at headquarters located in Utako area, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

The National President in a statement distributed by Femi Akinlawon, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity on Tuesday described the proposed protest as unrealistic and insignificant, adding that President Tinubu’s administration is working assiduously to change the current economic narrative.

Penpushing further reports that Sotayo in the statement appealed to those behind the planned protest to allow the President to fix the nation for better, arguing that one year is not enough to judge him,

The President of the union, however, admitted that the increased price of fuel could trigger the commercial morcylists to join the protest, but cautioned them to exercise patience as Tinubu is working on abating the situation.

‘The government understands your frustration and disappointment with the current state of affairs in our beloved country. The struggles we face as a nation are undeniable, and it’s natural to want to take action. However, I strongly advise against embarking on protests’, Sotayo stated.

Penpushing also reports that he said the government is setting different policies to lift the hardships, adding that the federal government is considering strategies that will enable every intervention to go directly to all Nigerians.

The union leader said the government is perfecting a scheme to support graduates of universities and polytechnics that were not able to get jobs until they got employed, just as he appealed to all stakeholders, influential and business owners in the country to support the vision of Tinubu in making the country peaceful.
