A man identified as Olaloye Olatunde has been declared missing attending a seminar on a Child Labour programme organised by the Trace Project in collaboration with Charakids Foundation at Sunview Hotel, Akure, Ondo State Capital.
Penpushing reports that whereabouts became mysterious after the programme, while his personal belongings were discovered inside the hotel room where he lodged for the seminar days after his disappearance.
The mysterious disappearance of Olatunde is said to be worrisome development for the family, while one of them confirmed that he (Olatunde) had been in regular contact with them from Monday to Wednesday during the programme.
Penpushing further reports that sources said attempts to reach him on Friday, August 29,2025 were unsuccessful as his phone was reportedly turned off, while the wife, reportedly, grew increasingly concerned when her calls went unanswered.
The relatives visited the hotel to inquire about him, and they were shocked to find that, while other participants had checked out, Olatunde’s belongings, including clothes, shoes, and other personal effects, were still in his room.
Penpushing also reports that the shocking discovery left relatives distressed and uncertain about Olatunde’s fate, prompting them to report the situation to the police, as at that the time of filing this report.
The Ondo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Alayande, confirmed that the incident was reported to the police, adding that investigation had commenced into the circumstances surrounding the disappearance
Penpushing reports that Alayande while calling for clam by the family and residents explained that the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit has launched an investigation into the incident
