Man beats wife to death over N1, 000

A 41 year old man, Hammawa Usman has been arrested by the Adamada Police Command for allegedly killing his wife at Jada Ward, Ganye town in Ganye Local Government Area of the state in a dispute involving N1, 000.

Penpushing reports that the suspect engaged his wife, Rabiyatu Usman in a fight when she demanded the refund of her N1, 000, but the man angrily reacted by hitting her head against the wall.

The Police Command Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Nguroje who confirmed the incident said the woman fell unconscious and was rushed to the hospital where she was later confirmed dead.

“The suspect angrily reacted by hitting her head against the wall … she fell unconscious and was rushed to the hospital where she was later confirmed dead.The suspect was apprehended by the police following report received from a relative of the deceased and a good Samaritan,”  Nguroje said.

Penpushing further reports that, the police spokesman, said investigation revealed that the suspect, a civil servant with Ganye Local Government Council, has five children with the deceased after 16 years of marriage.

The statement added that the commissioner of police, Aliyu Alhaji, commended the locals and police for exposing and making it impossible for the suspect  not to escape justice, and ordered investigation into the case to ensure that the suspect is prosecuted.

Penpushing also reports that, the police boss, however, called on the people to always report suspicious characters in their neighbourhoods to the police.
