The Honor 103.5 FM and Pan-af Publishers, in collaboration with the United Nations (UN), have concluded arrangements to hold the World Interfaith Harmony Week Conference and Awards, scheduled to take place on February 5, 2025, at 10:00 am in Trenchard Hall, University of Ibadan.
Penpushing reports that a statement by Seun Awodele stated that the theme for this year’s conference is “The Love of the Good and The Love of the Neighbors,” with a sub-theme of “Peace for Our Time’, stressing that the event seeks to highlight the importance of love and mutual respect in building harmonious relationships among different religious groups.
The statement added that the keynote speaker includes former President Olusegun Obasanjo who will present a thematic paper, as well as Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, Former Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, who will also deliver an important keynote address.
Penpushing further reports that Awodele added that the event will also feature Engr ‘Seyi Mainde Governor of Oyo State, as the Special Guest of Honor and former Ogun State Governor, Senator Gbenga Daniel is expected to chair the conference.
The statement said other expected distinguished guests are Alhaji Dr. Mohammad Sa’ad Abubakar, Sultan of Sokoto and Co-Chair of the Nigerian Interfaith Council, Most Reverend Daniel Okoh, National President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), as well as other eminent personalities from various sectors.
Penpushing also reports that Awodele stated that a key highlight of the conference will be the conferment of the Apostles of Peace Gold Award and the United Nations (UN) World Interfaith Harmony Gold Award.
The statement explained that these prestigious Apostle of Peace Awards will honor individuals and organizations that have made remarkable contributions to peace and interfaith dialogue, which include. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, Engr. Dr. Oluseyi Makinde, Evang. Dr. Cosmos Maduka and Rev. Dr. Israel Adelani Akanji.
