A former staff of Standard Alliance Insurance Plc, Bayo Sobande has appealed to the management to pay his exited accumulated benefits over years, months after he left the company

Penpushing reports that, Sobande in a letter titled, ‘Compassionate Request” addressed to HCM, at Lekki Phase 2 Lagos State office, said the passionate request became necessary following his current financial challenges

The former staff who narrated how he religiously served the company for number of years, before the sudden massive retrenchment exercise by the company, begged for at least 50% of his benefits to be paid

‘I appreciate your efforts in my last visit to your office to explain the update of the company in the light of repositioning and the plans to pay up all exited staff benefits’, Sobande wrote.

‘However, I made an appeal for consideration on a passionate ground that at least 50% of my expectations be paid in order to save my face in the light of certain urgent, excruciating financial demands, on compassionate ground’, he appealed.

‘Please note that before March 2020 when I was out of the system I was personally committed to the course of SA to shore up our volume production with my team but unfortunately most of these clients  were not paid even up till now’.

‘In addition to these efforts to save the face of our SA, I also interfaced with the police, EFCC, Ibadan   popular Tv programmes especially ‘ BCOS Sodaabee’ and the Oyo state government mediation Centre’, Sobande added.

‘In  all these, I spent weeks in EFCC and similar days at police detention in a deplorable environment. This was a regular occurrence even to some of my staff as well’, he lamented.

‘One should consider that my challenges should be over after living the system in February 2020, but in March same year we entered nationwide lockdown. During this period, I was indisposed and cash strapped and just coming out of this’, Sobande emphasised.

‘In the light of the above negative trajectory, I plead on compassionate ground for the following: urgent and immediate payment of 50% of my expected exit benefit,a review of the benefit to include my over I year fuel allowance which has been deducted through  nonpayment of my full salary statutory transport allowance with salaries, inclusion of my exit package as indicated in the Book of Company’s Policies, having served the  company since 2007.

Penpushing also reports that, the distressed former worker stressed that he would appreciate if immediate attention is given to his passionate letter of request.

‘I will so much appreciate immediate attention to the payment of the partial payment so solve meet up  with my urgent need not enumerated here. Thank you. Yours sincerely’, the letter reads,
