The first batch of Ogun State pilgrims who participated in the 2026 Hajj exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are expected to arrive on Thursday at the Gateway International Airport, Iperu, marking the commencement of the return journey of pilgrims from the annual Islamic pilgrimage.

Penpushing reports that the Airport Manager, Engr. Adebowale Arogundade, made this known in a statement assuring that all necessary arrangements had been concluded to ensure a smooth reception process for the returning pilgrims upon their arrival.

The Manager stated that Flynas Airlines (Saudi Arabia Airlines) would airlift 345 pilgrims with an Airbus A330 from Jeddah at 1:00 p.m. local time and expected to arrive at the Gateway International Airport at 7:50 p.m. Nigeria time.

Penpushing further reports that Arogundade emphasized that adequate logistics, security and medical support arrangements have been put in place to facilitate the seamless movement of the pilgrims from the Airport to their various destinations across the State.

The airport boss commended the Ogun State Government for its support towards the successful participation of the pilgrims in this year’s Hajj exercise and appreciated officials of the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board for their dedication and commitment throughout the pilgrimage, while, imploring families and friends of the pilgrims to cooperate with Airport and security officials during the reception process to ensure orderliness and safety.

Penpushing also reports that it would be recalled that the pilgrims, who joined millions of Muslims from around the world to perform the sacred rites in Makkah and Madinah, were expected to be received by government officials, family members and well-wishers at the airport.
