The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has been named to receive Leadership Governor of the Year 2022 award being organized by  Leadership Newspaper,while this is coming shortly after his recent national award for Excellence in Governance, Industrial Revolution category.
Penpushing reports that, an official letter to this effect addressed to the Governor dated November 28, 2022, signed by the Senior Vice Chairman/Editor-in-Chief of the Leadership newspaper, Mr. Azubuike Ishekwene, explained that Abiodun was singled out for the award for maintaining a steady pace of development and for execution of people-oriented projects across Ogun State.
The letter added that, other reason was that the Governor resisting the temptations of abandoning uncompleted projects initiated by his  predecessor,  who did everything possible to thwart your ambition
 “On behalf of LEADERSHIP Group, I have the pleasure to convey to you the decision of our Nomination and Selection Committee which met for this purpose to choose you as the LEADERSHIP Governor of the Year 2022″, the letter reads.
“Amid several nominees with excellent credentials, you have been selected for this prestigious award for maintaining a steady pace of development,  execution of people-oriented projects across Ogun State, resisting the temptations of abandoning uncompleted projects initiated by your predecessor who did everything possible to thwart your ambition”, the letter added.
 “For keeping all your electioneering promises as encompassed in the ISEYA and ensuring adequate security and peaceful coexistence among all ethnic groups across the state, the selection  board found you most qualified as LEADERSHIP Governor of the year 2022”, the company wrote.
Penpushing further reports that, among past recipients of the award are  President Muhammad Bühari; Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo,(SAN); former Heads of States, Gen Yakubu Gowon (rtd.), General Olusegun Obasanjo (rtd), General Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd); former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan; Captains of industries like Aliko Dangote; Dr. Akinwumi Adesina and Dr (Mrs.) Okonjo Oweala; among others.
