The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, Lanre Bankole on Sunday stunned his guests as he took over the role of Disc Jockey (DJ) to entertain them at a New Year party organised at his residence in Abeokuta.
Penpushing reports that the dexterity of the police boss on the console excited and ignited the guests, who could not resist the temptation of the music, comprising majorly old school music, being dished out by Bankole and number of them trooped to the dancing floor.
The Commissioner who was said to be Disk Jockey (DJ) in his secondary school days at Fiditi Grammar School, Fiditi in Oyo State in the 70’s, was able to display his skills in the entertainment world, as he was also seen intermittently nodding his head to the evergreen music he handled to admiration of his guests.
Penpushing further reports that some of the old school mates and seniors of Bankole at Fiditi Grammar School while he was ruling the entertainment world with his dexterity and skills on keyboards include: Sola Omole, Senator Bode Olajumoke, Barrister Demola Badejo and Abiodun Adewale among others
The Commissioner turned DJ reeled out old tunes which include: Lionel Richie, Michael Jackson, U-B 40, Dolly Parton, Bob Marley ,Fela Anikulapo-Kuti,Madonna and Steven Wonder among others which took many of guests in their 50″s back to memory lane
Penpushing also reports that, the Commissioner was over two hours behind the console to entertain his guests at his official residence located at Government Reservation Area(GRA), Ibara, Abeokuta, and thereafter his last born, Fiyi Bankole, an undergraduate of Babcock University, Ilishan took over and returned to the new music to entertain the younger generation.
The Commissioner of Police was said to have organized the party in honour and appreciation to his officers and men of the command, for contributing effectively and positively towards fighting crimes and criminals which has drastically reduced in the state
