The abductors of  students of Greenfield University, in Kaduna have threatened to kill seventeen of the undergraduate on Tuesday in addition to five of them killed some days ago, warning that the threat will be carry out if the Nigerian Government failed to pay ransom of N100million as demanded by them.

Penpushing reports that, the leader of the kidnappers, Sani Jalingo, popularly called Baleri, gave the threat while speaking in an interview with Voice of America (VOA) Hausa service on Monday.

The leader of the abductors declared that unless the government pays the ransom million and 10 brand new Honda motorcycles, the government would end up providing truck to evacuate the bodies of the students on Tuesday.

Penpushing further reports that he advised  Governor El-Rufai, who had earlier declared that he was not ready to negotiate with the bandits, to take the warning seriously as the group is determined to carry out its threat.

The leader of the kidnappers, however, confirmed that families of the students have paid N55 million as ransom explaining that the money was used to feed the victims, boasting that the group is in control and that Nigerian government has failed its people

“We used it to feed them. We also heard from the Kaduna State Governor El-Rufai boasting that he will not pay ransom to bandits to purchase additional arms. Let me tell him what we are doing here is to show the world that Nigerian government has failed it people and are not in control. We are not scared, it is either they pay the ransom or we eliminate the 17 students”,Jalingo emphasised

The bandits leader disclosed that victims in their custody include 17 boys and two girls one of which is the grandson of the late Emir of Zazzau, Shehu Idris, while of the 19, 17 of them are believed to be students of the university while the identity of the remaining two could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.

Penpushing also reports that, two of the abducted students, Idris  who spoke during the interview passionately  appealed to the government and their parents to take the threats seriously, lamenting that the abductors meant to carry out the threat, adding, “they mean what they say because they have already killed some of us,” .

The colleague of Idris in captivity identified as  Abigail Usman, in similar vein, begged Nigerian government to save their lives and come to their rescue, expressing fear that they might be killed if the ransom is not made available of the deadline, stressing that, “they took our colleagues and killed them; five of them. If they don’t get the money, they will kill us all,”
