The second of the three oil tanker explosion patients which occurred at overhead bridge at Kuto axis of Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital last Tuesday and currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre,Idi Aba, Abeokuta is dead.
Penpushing reports that, Head of Public Relations of the hospital, Segun Orisajo made this known in a statement on Tuesday, adding that the 42 year old male deceased died in the early hours of Saturday, attributing his death to burns sepsis complications
The Head of Public Relations of the hospital said in the statement the patient whose health condition had shown slight improvement since admission got worse over the weekend and had to be rushed to the Intensive Care Unit.
The Medical Director, Dr Adewale Musa-Olomu regrets the loss of the patient whom he said was provided with the best of care at the Centre, explaining that space had to be quickly created for him at the ICU when it became obvious his condition requires specialized attention at the unit.
Penpushing further reports that, the statement added that Medical Director sympathizes with his family and the Ogun State Government over the unfortunate incident, adding that the last of the three patients is responding to treatment
