Residents along the City Gate area of Asaba, Delta State, were seen scrambling to scoop fuel from a leaking tanker with many of them carrying buckets, jerrycans and other containers as they rushed to collect the spilling fuel despite the danger of a possible explosion.

Penpushing reports that videos circulating on X on Thursday showed that the incident reportedly occurred after the tanker began leaking its contents, attracting a large crowd to the scene.

Meanwhile, the development has raised safety concerns, as fuel spillages involving tankers have previously resulted in deadly explosions in different parts of the country.
