A prominent member of Penpushing platform and immediate Past Head of Service of Ogun State, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya has been honoured with the prestigious Award of Excellence in Public Service by City People Magazine.
Penpushing reports that the award was presented to Onasanya, who was represented at the ceremony by the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Local Government Pensions, Engr. Fisan Osiyale, at the 2026 City People Awards Ceremony held on Saturday at the Peacock Hall, Island Club, Onikan, Lagos State.
The Publisher of City People Magazine, Dr. Seye Kehinde speaking at the event, described Onasanya as a beacon of public service excellence whose tenure redefined professionalism, integrity and workers’ welfare in the Ogun State Civil Service.
Penpushing further reports that Kehinde pointed out that City People Magazine remains committed to recognizing distinguished Nigerians who have made impactful contributions to national development through service, dedication and leadership in their chosen fields.
The awardee in his acceptance expressed deep appreciation to City People Magazine for the recognition, adding that the award was not only a celebration of past service, but also a call to consolidate on previous efforts and to strive for greater commitment to humanity and nation-building.
Penpushing also reports that Onasanya dedicated the award to the entire Ogun State workforce, past and present, noting that the successes recorded during his tenure as Head of Service were a product of collective sacrifice, teamwork, and the worker-friendly policies of the Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON-led administration which provided him the platform to serve at the peak of his career.
“The Ogun State Public Service is built on a foundation laid by our forebears and sustained by successive generations. This honour belongs to all of us who served with diligence and integrity’, he said.
Penpushing reports that other distinguished recipients at the ceremony included the former Accountant-General of the Federation, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Madein; Chairman/Chief Executive of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd.); and nonagenarian and retired Permanent Secretary in Ogun State, Chief Oluneye Okuboyejo, who received a special recognition award.
The other eminent personalities from the public and private sectors were also honoured, while the ceremony drew top government functionaries, captains of industry, traditional rulers, and members of the media.
