Fleeing suspects alleged in edo state murder arrested

The Delta State Police Command has arrested a fleeing suspects alleged to have been involved in the murder of 31-year-old Alex Adanike, an operation carried out by , members of Supreme Vikings Confraternity known as Aro Bagger.

Penpushing reports the Command Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe made this known in a statement, recalling that the confraternity mistook the victim for his twin brother Okpako Adanike and shot him dead.

The police said the statement stated that extensive investigation into the matter earlier led to the arrest of two suspects identified as; Warri Ochuko and Lucky Okohwoake, who both confessed to the commission of the crime.

Penpushing further reports that the police said the recent raid on criminal hideouts in Ughelli and Warri areas of the state, led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, in charge of the department of operations, Olumuyiwa Adejobi  led to the arrest of two additional suspects.

The statement added that the identities of the suspects includeTega Micheal (26) of number 22 Umutu Area Ughelli and Tena Sagbene(32) of number 26 Oseri Street Ughelli, who were identified by the suspects in custody as part of their gang members who they jointly murdered the deceased on the said date.

Penpushing also reports that command in the statement stated that all the suspects confessed to the commission of the crime and were on March 31, 2026 arraigned before the Ughelli High Court and remanded in prison custody.

The command emphasizes the importance of proactive policing which includes intelligence gathering, raids and stop and search duty, stressing that it serves not only as a mechanism for easy apprehension of criminals, but also to forestall criminal activities, there by restoring peace and sanity in the State.

Penpushing reports that the Commissioner of Police has lauded the commitment of officers for sustaining the fight against crime and criminality and taking the war to their door stop, thereby making the state unhabitable for them. He also urged Deltans, residents and non residents to be law abiding, and respect the rule of law.
