The President of Egba Economic Summit Group Dr. Gbenga Adeoye has led other prominent Egba Sons on a visit to the Wasinmi Airport Site located in Ewekoro local government area of Ogun State.

Penpushing reports that Adeoye explained that the objective of the visit was to appraise the extent of work done, proximity to Yewaland, as well as viability and importance of the airport, adding that the nearness of the airport to Yewaland makes it one of the best projects in Ogun State.

The President explained that it was easy to drive from the site to Aga Olowo as well as Onigbedu from the airport which is along Ibese road having entered through Wasinmi,as the team existed through Onigbedu.

Penpushing further reports that the President emphasised that the focus of Egba Economic Summit is to ensure the development of Egbaland and Egba people including dwellers whether of Egba origin or not.

The summit promised to embark on a tour of the Idi Aba- Ajebo- Alapako express road to appraise the progress as that road will also help the university of Medicine and Medical Sciences located at Ajibayo Village near Kajola in Obafemi Owode Local Government.

Penpushing also reports that a major founding member of Egba Economic Summit Group (EES) and first leader Engr Ola Sobande in his remarks explained that the Wasinmi airport will be useful to decongest the Ikeja airport in Lagos.

The former Board Chairman, Prince Abiodun Karunwi said the airport will lead to massive development of the area adding that it will equally be useful for emergency landing during take-off and landing at Lagos Airport if the need arises and it will promote business growth in Egba and Yewa Land as the proximity to Yewa is more than Egbaland.

Penpushing reports that the team drove to Aga Olowo and Onigbedu to determine the distance from the airport to Ibese, and used the occasion in assuring all Egbas that all projects that will enhance the development of Egbaland will be closely monitored and encouraged.
