Nineteenth senators accompanying Senator David Jimkuta of Taraba South to witness his empowerment programme have been denied landing permit at the Kashimbilla Airport in Taraba State.
Penpushing reports that Jimkuta, made the shocking disclosure this at his Senatorial Empowerment Programme in Wukari, where he donated assorted items to the constituents, but did not name the affected federal lawmakers.
The Senators explained that his affected colleagues were selected by the Senate to accompany him and to witness his empowerment programme, lamenting that he got the report that the Kashimbila airport was temporary shutdown, after he had completed every procedure required to fly into the airport.
Penpushing further reports that Jimkuta, who is the chairman of the Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Councils, explained that the visit would have allowed the senators to know the needs of the state to be of support
The worried federal lawmaker stated that the situation had prevented the senators from gracing the occasion, as he advised the beneficiaries of the empowerment programme not to sell their equipment.
Penpushing also reports that he promised to support security with logistics to enhance security of lives and properties in the district, and earlier Chairman of the event, David Kente, thanked the senator for the massive distribution of items to his constituents.
The occasion chairman a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and philanthropist while speaking at the venue where Jimkuta distributed equipment which include cars, motorcycles, tricycles, sewing machines, deep freezers, vulcanising machines among others, described the empowerment as unpresidented in the history of the district.
