The Osile Oke-Ona Oba (Dr) Adedapo Tejuoso on Saturday honoured a couple Babatunde Johnson Kokumo and Afolashade Kokumo with chieftaincy titles of Mayegun and Iyalode of Oke-Ona Egba respectively.

Penpushing reports that the ceremony was held at the Osile’s palace located in Sapon, heart centre of the ancient town and attracted thousands of Oke-Ona citizens both within and outside the country who came to grace the ceremony.

The colourful and well packaged ceremony was equally broadcast live by Penpushing online television with numbers of viewers within and outside Nigeria glued to the website of the media organization to watch the events as been transmitted globally.

Penpushing further reports that the couple dressed in Aso-Oke, a known Yoruba attire took oath allegiance before Oba Adedapo Tejuoso accompanied by his three Oloris, Oke-Ona Chiefs, as well as other guests who stormed the palace to be part of history.

The Osile Oke-Ona thereafter, prayed for the couple after the traditional process to announce the couple as the new chiefs in the kingdom, where it was made known that Kokumo is the fourth Iyalode of the town after the demise of Iyalode Alaba Lawson.

Penpushing also reports that the couple read oath allegiance and promised to show commitment and dedication to the developmental growth of the kingdom, stressing that they would not display disloyalty to the monarch.

The train of the event after the installation moved to the private residence of the couple located within Government Reservation Area (GRA), Ibara, Abeokuta, where guests were entertained with food, drinks and gifts as well as musical band on ground to add glamour to the ceremony.

Penpushing reports the 4th Iyalode Oke-Ona Egba, was a retired Permanent Secretary with Ogun State Governor, while her husband who is the Mayegun of the kingdom was a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police.

The notable dignitaries at the events include former Nigerian Ambassador to United Kingdom, Ambassador Tunji Sarafa Ishola, Chief Bode Mustapha (Osi of Egbaland), Yetunde Onanuga (former Ogun State Deputy Governor) , Dr Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji (Founder Penpushing Media) and Chief  Tiwalade Akingbade(Osi Balogun /Aare Ago of Oke-Ona)

Penpushing further reports that others are Sina Olukolu(retired Assistant Inspector General of Police), Edward Ajogun(retired Commissioner Police), Olusola Subair(retired Inspector General of Police) and Abiodun Alamutu)retired Commissioner of Police) among others
