The mother of former Speaker House of Representatives, Alhaja Monsurat Bankole has been reported dead in the early hours of Friday at the age of 78 and will be buried 4pm today according to Islamic rites.
Penpushing reports that the demise of the Alhaja, mother of Rt Hon Dimeji Bankole was confirmed by Sheik Iskeel Lawal popularly called Sugar, who is the Consultant on Islamic Affairs Ogun State adding that she will be buried on Friday after Solatul-Asr at her husband’s residence located at Abule Oluwo in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital
“Office of the Consultant on Islamic Affairs- Ogun, Sheik Iskeel Lawal Sugar wishes to announce the death of our mother, grand mother and great grandmother, Alhaja Monsurat Atinuuke Amoke Bankole who passed away today at the age of 78 Years’, the statement read.
“Alhaja Monsurat, who’s the mother of the former Speaker of House of Representatives Rt Hon. Abd-Sabur Dimeji Bankole amd Iya Adini of Egbaland in her lifetime will be buried according to Islamic injunction immediately after Solatul-Asr today 10/01/2025 in her husband’s residence at Abule Oluwo, Abeokuta. May Almighty Allah bless her soul, forgive her shortcomings and admit her into Janatul-Fridaous”,Lawal sated.
Penpushing further reports that Sheik Taofeek Amolegbe Mufasar of Egbaland land will deliver a lecture at the burial ceremony to be anchored by Dr Iskeel Lawal, Wakeel Muslimeen of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States who doubles as Consultant to the Governor on Islamic Affairs in Ogun State
Meanwhile, copies of the demise announcement from the consultant as at the time of filing this report have been forwarded to President Bola Tinubu, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Senator Solomon Adeola, Rt Hon Yakubu Dogara and Femi Gbajabiamila
