Obasanjo to lead owu indigenes, dignitaries to olowu of owu kingdom coronation, birthday anniversary

The former President of Nigeria Chief Olusegun Obasanjo is to lead Owu indigenes both at home and diaspora, as well as other dignitaries to the second-year coronation and 60th birthday anniversary of the traditional ruler of Owu Kingdom, Oba (Prof) Saka Matemilola.

Penpushing reports that the monarch made this known on Wednesday at a press conference held at his Oke-Ago/Owu Palace in Abeokuta, as he rolled out number of activities for the events which is scheduled to run for a week.

The royal father accompanied by his two Oloris(Queens) and other high chiefs of the ancient town affirmed that Obasanjo who is the Balogun of Owu has equally confirmed his physical  presence at a week-long activities.

Penpushing further reports that Matemilola, who is the Oluyalo Otileta V11 highlighted the programme as include traditional rites, a night with him, which will hold in the palace and Diamond Dumbling Centre at Government Reservation Area (GRA), Ibara Abeokuta respectively

The monarch disclosed that part of the activities will include free medical outreach to residents as well as children party which will have him in attendance, there will also be inter faith services as well as conferment of chieftaincy titles at Olowu palace

Penpushing also reports that there will be conferment of chieftaincy titles  on Thursday August 1,2024 at the palace and symposium on Friday August 2,2024 to hold at the auditorium of Olesun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta.

The coronation anniversary is scheduled to hold on Saturday August 3, 2024 at Oba Odeleye Park Ori Omi from 10am, and on Sunday August 4, 2024 the 60th birthday of the monarch will take place at Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Abeokuta from 12pm
