The Ogun State Government said it will soon commence construction of Olokuta road which link the railway station name after the Nobel laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka sited at the Laderin community of Abeokuta.

Penpushing reports that Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Tokunbo Talabi dropped the hint while speaking at the 60th birthday and retirement service, in honour of the outgone Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Abosede Ogunleye, at Alleluia Chapel, along Ajebo road, Abeokuta.

The Government Scribe who was not specific when work shall resume on the road which also link Ibadan and Lagos, however, emphasized that the present administration was poised to ameliorate the hardship people encountered when travelling via the train station.

Penpushing further reports that Talabi added that the construction of the road was part of the administration efforts to ease both human and vehicular movement in the area, explaining it was no news that it’s a federal government road, but assured that the road has been rated and accredited to be handle by Ogun State Government

‘The road being federal, needs the Federal Government’s concurrence but now the road has been rated and accredited. So, we are going through the approval procedures now and we are confident that in a short while, work will begin on that road. We have been on this issue for a while now and we are optimistic that it will become a reality soon”, he said.

Penpushing also reports earlier the presiding minister of the church, Pastor Paul Daniel in his sermon commended the government for its developmental strides in the state and for extending palliative distribution to the church members.

The clergyman attested that the retired Permanent Secretary was an epitome of generosity and diligence, urging her to continue to put her virtue to bear in serving humanity, even in retirement.
