The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared the wife of a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Margaret Emefiele, wanted for alleged fraud, which involved diverting huge sums of money belonging to the Nigerian government.
Penpushing reports that a statement by the crime commission alleged that the wanted relatives of Emefiele conspired with him (Emefiele) in cornering huge sums of money belonging to the Nigerian government.
The anti-graft agency in a public notice shared through its X handle late Friday gave identities of those on the wanted list as include Eric Ocheme Odoh, Margaret Dumbiri Emefiele, Anita Joy Omoile and Jonathan Omoile
Penpushing further reports that the commission accused them of committing a felony, specifically obtaining money by false pretences and stealing, contrary to and punishable under Sections 411, 287 and 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State.
The statement urged members of the public to volunteer credible information on the whereabouts of the suspects by either contacting any of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) offices or call 08093322644.
Penpushing also reports that the public notice added that Odoh hailed from Benue State with his last known address at CBN headquarters, Central Business District, Abuja, a suggestion that the suspect may be a Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) official.
The agency in addition explained that Mrs Emefiele is an indigene of Ika Local Government Area of Delta State and Chief Executive Officer of Dummies Oil and Gas Ltd, with her last known address at House number. 38 Iru Close, Ikoyi, Lagos State.
Penpushing reports that the announcement in similar vein, said the two others which include Jonathan Omoile and Anita also hail from Delta State, adding that Jonathan, who appears to be a Bureau de Change operator, is the Chief Executive Officer of Excel Quote BDC Limited, is last known to live at Plot 1, Unit 14, Babafemi Osoba Crescent, Lekki Phase 1, Off Admiralty Road, Lagos State
The statement equally informed that Anita, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Deepblue Energy Services Ltd and Lipman Investment Services, is also believed to have last shared the same address with Jonathan.
Meanwhile, the embattled former Governor Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN),Godwin Emefiele, is already being prosecuted at the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) over allegations of fraudulent financial transactions during his time in office.
